I am more than willing to be wrong. I don’t always have to be right. I do not always know the answer. I am okay with that. I can admit it.

The thing is if I am wrong, and I am proven wrong, and it is made clear to me that I am wrong--I will change my mind! If two plus two equals five really equals four why would I continue to stick by five? Just to stick with my position? Just so I don’t have to admit I was wrong? That is foolish.

I appear to be in a rare minority that way.

When did refusing to admit you are wrong, no matter how obviously wrong you are, become acceptable? Is this something that has always been? I know I have heard the phrase “Those who don’t learn from history are doomed to repeat it” and other similar statements all my life. I always thought it was about learning from the past and doing things better. Is there a hidden meaning in there?

Maybe the real point is thinking is hard? Change is hard. Saying the same things, following the same rut, even if you don’t really believe it is a lot easier than changing your world view. The problem is if you are in a bad situation it’s easier to stay in that bad situation or ignore the situation all together than to change your mind and deal with the issues. I actually envy that in a way.

You have people who don’t even acknowledge the need to change their minds and than you have the people who know it’s all bullshit but keep on spouting the bullshit because the people they are feeding it too eat it like candy. I guess that is the way it is. The problem is when people get hurt because of the bullshit. Losing a little money isn’t getting hurt. Starving hurts.

Laterzzz...

Too lazy to write something new...

Fiscal Conservative--does that mean the tax breaks and corporate welfare go to the bankers, the energy cartels, the warmongers or some other group who doesn't need the help? As long as you can blame welfare queens its all good.

How about some Fiscal Progressiveness where we see who has the money and tax them. Like they did in the past. How about we stop spending money on endless wars that suck up our treasure and kill our people. How about end the drug war an put those cops to work securing the border or regulating the newly created marijuana farming industry.

I could go on, but we need less talk about "going back" and looking ahead. Too many conservatives see themselves as pioneers, homesteaders who can do it all by themselves out in the wild if gub'mint would get out the way. What they really are are Indians who tried to share the land and realized too late that the rest of the world was coming.

Nothing says America is guaranteed to win. The precious bible never mentions us.America could be a blip on the radar of history if we don't get our shit together.

But what do I know, I'm an asshole posting on a wrestling board. Pro-choice, tax the rich, generally anti-war, actually pro-gun, and pro-legalization and an American asshole.

Who owns what?

It used to be in this country that businesses and even large corporations were owned by individuals or families. The head of the company went to work and had to see the employees that worked for him. Usually that owner also lived in the town where his factory or the headquarters was. It's hard to sell out a town when you live there in the same community.

The de-regulation of 70's and mostly 80's made it so that factories and businesses could easily be taken over by outside liquidators. People who had no interest in towns, people, or making things swooped in, liquidated a company, and reaped the harvest. Meanwhile, towns died. When the companies did stay but were owned by giant corporations, the little people in the town no longer mattered.

Then globalization happened.

Logically making products for as little as possible makes sense. If you can make a product for pennies, ship it for nickels, and sell it for dollars not to do so violates why you are in business if just to make money is all you are in business for.

Unless you want to have a country.A country that works. A country that lasts. A country of laws, and people that have a sense of hope. A country that can fight a war and win not just with soldiers but because we have a manufacturing base that can go from peacetime to wartime in the space of a year or two. Not that we should use war as the only reason we do things, but ask yourself, what if China invaded Taiwan? Could we win? Could we win against any country right now that has any kind of real army? Could we out manufacture them like we did the Germans in WW2?

I’m not against capitalism. I think it’s mostly a good thing. I also like the game Monopoly. If you play Monopoly long enough on player will gather up all the best properties, railroads, and most of the money. The game ceases to be fun because one person controls everything. At that point you have to reset the game and everyone starts equally. Now the game is fun again.

I am not advocating everyone being even. I am not even for leveling the playing field. I am for safety nets. I am for people not being made homeless because they lose a job. I am for health care. I am for giving people food to eat. If some rich people and corporation have to pay a little bit more in taxes, isn’t that their duty as Americans?

“To whom much is given much is expected.”

It is time for the wealthy to step up and take one for the team. We don’t want you to hurt but if you are a little uncomfortable for awhile and it helps America that will be better for everyone.

Little Tired

I got to stop watching politics. It just makes angry. The right and they left in equal doses even if I do favor the left a little more. I know I have progressive tendencies. I am for a women’s right to choose. I am for equal rights. I am for every American having a place to live, having food, having health care.

I am also very conservative in the fact that I believe in the Constitution. The whole thing. Freedom of speech, the press, religion. I believe in the second amendment. I have no problem with a citizen of this country owning guns.

I also think that in this modern age we have to be smart and we have the tech to do background checks to keep the guns out of criminals hands. We register cars in this country, it seems logical to have to register some guns. I have no doubt that if machine guns were invented when the Constitution was written there would have been some kind of control on them. The founders were not stupid men. They didn’t say that every man may have a cannon, which were available at the time. I also think that technically, if you get a gun you should have to join a state militia, as that is mentioned. And if joining that militia is a kind of gun registration, than so be it. People worry that if guns are registered the government will know where to go to get their guns. I think if that started happening the only guns the government would get is the cold dead hands kind.

What it seems to me is the most anti-government people are mostly bitching about is money. Don’t take my money! Don’t give my money to the poor. Where is my money! Give me more money! Shouting at the government. Blaming the wrong people while the fat cats and corporations drain the country dry.

They trick one groups of poor to fight against other groups of poor. Distraction, distraction. I do think that there is a lot of fear in this country. Especially of former middle class white people who are realizing the last 40 years was a lie and that supply side economics is bullshit. Especially when the system is gamed in the favor of the rich and the powerful and the connected. The whole country is in the middle of a big reset downward where a big part of the country is going to be forced to do with less.

Hopefully we can get out of this before some really bad stuff has to go down.

Like what you ask?

Famine, riots, marshal law, religious zealots taking over, invasion, world war.. Yes I know the U.S. is already in many wars around the world. Hopefully we can knock some of that shit out. Sending our men and women to die for nothing is bad enough but when they come back and we basically forget them, especially the injured on the inside ones, that’s just unforgivable.

No matter what some people would have you believe, not everything can be done for profit. I mean look at me, I don’t get paid shit. Of course I don’t work very hard at this. I just open my brain, shake it, and get the splatter everywhere. Laterzzz

Legalize

The government should legalize marijuana.

Not because it is stupid to make something illegal that you can grow in your closet. Not because of the right or perceived wrong of the use. Not for medical reasons.

It should be made legal so that we can tax the shit out of it. If drugs were legal the government could help pay for the fuck up that the Bush administration has done to every part of our country. It would also save a lot of money by helping to get rid of all the money spent on putting people in jail. The legal system would be way less burdened and maybe police could spend more time on catching real criminals.

It's not going to happen though. Why? It is because of the money. All the people that make money off the so-called war of drugs. Think about it.

If pot was legal, less people would need lawyers. Less people would probably drink alcohol. Less prisons would be needed. Who would have to go to their doctors to get anxiety medications if a person could just take a few tokes? We wouldn't need as many DEA agents. We wouldn't need as many police.

It's not going to happen though. There are too many forces aligned against it. Too much money made by the corporations and groups that make their money off of it being prohibited. It is way to easy for politicians to be against "drugs" then it is for them to stand up and have the balls to be against the prohibition that is currently in place.

On a darker note, the drug war is also a means of control and monitoring of certain segments of the population that our government inherently distrusts, be that because of age, skin tone, income level,  or political ideology. It is also a great conditioning tool. If you tell everyone that something they know to be OK is wrong and make it illegal and yet they do it anyway they have already broken the law . And if a person breaks the law, they assume that everyone else is too and when they find out that their government is full of liars and cheats who also break the law it is hard to take the moral high ground when inside they feel that they have lied and broken the law also. But I might be reaching on that point. But then again maybe not.

After-all, we associate in this country the law with some kind of morality. Don't kill. Killing is wrong therefore killing is illegal. Don't steal. Stealing is wrong therefore illegal. Don't smoke weed. Smoking weed is illegal, but is it wrong? Can you really put someone smoking a plant on the same level morally as killing, raping, or stealing? Should you give up your precious life rotting in jail because some guy in a suit who is drinking, smoking, and popping pills, says it's wrong? That just doesn't make much sense to me.

I believe in right and wrong. I think the war against marijuana is wrong. I say make it legal. Tax it. Sell it in stores and make people show ID to buy it. Take the money saved and pay off the national debt or maybe give poor people health care and homes. But it isn't going to happen. Not now. Not in America. Because it is wrong. Laterzzz...

First Day of Fall

The Cast of It's Always Sunny in Philidelphia

Today is the first day of Fall.‭ ‬Summer is over.‭ ‬Good.‭ ‬I didn't have a good summer.‭ ‬I felt like shit most of the year.‭ ‬I hope I have a good fall.‭ ‬I think today's entry will be a good day for just a bunch of random thoughts and tangents.‭ ‬Actual deep thought doesn't appeal to me right now.‭

‬Damn.‭ ‬The economy is shit,‭ ‬isn't it‭? ‬No jobs.‭ ‬Shitty jobs.‭ ‬People going broke.‭ ‬No money.‭ ‬I hope we can all agree at this point that the Bush Presidency falls under the under the category of Epic Fail.‭ ‬At least history will if America makes it through the crisis.‭ ‬Fingers Crossed.‭

‬Speaking of failing, Obama and McCain are only going to debate three times.‭ ‬And each debate is going to have a set topic,‭ ‬not many topics with just the format dictated.‭ ‬What a bunch of crap.‭ ‬They should have a bunch of debates.‭ ‬I want to see them have a throw down about the issues and I wanna see who comes out better.‭ ‬They should have at least five.‭ ‬Even if there isn't much of a value in the debates,‭ ‬it is more of a tradition kind of thing.‭ ‬Plus,‭ ‬it's fun.‭ ‬I like watching the candidates dance like trained monkeys.‭ ‬We are going to have to put up with their shit when they are in office we should at least get a bit of entertainment beforehand.‭ ‬And since they won't fight it out in a steel cage or giant robots this is second best.‭

‬My new favorite show that is currently on TV is‭ "‬It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia‭"‬.‭ ‬I guess it is on the FX network but I watch it on Hulu or other various places around the world wide internets web.‭ ‬The show is totally irreverent.‭ ‬It has foul language and adult themes.‭ ‬And it is fucking hilarious.‭ ‬If you are not watching it you should.‭ ‬If you are watching it,‭ ‬watch it more. Wildcard Bitches‭!!!! (‬Charlie is the fuckin awesome‭!)‬.‭

‬I watched a documentary called‭ "‬Bigger,‭ ‬Faster,‭ ‬Stronger‭"‬.‭ ‬It was about steroids in America but it was actually about more than that.‭ ‬It was about how in America we are all about winning and don't care what we have to do to win.‭ ‬But it is also about how we hate losing,‭ ‬losers,‭ ‬and how we consider the second place just to be the first loser.‭ ‬About the steroids it had some interesting data,‭ ‬like steroids are almost‭ ‬#150‭ ‬on the list of causes of death in America.‭ ‬Number‭ ‬1‭ ‬is alcohol.‭ ‬It said how a lot of the info about steroids is just bullshit.‭ ‬It also showed how those fuckers in Congress had those hearings about steroids in sports and what a colossal waste of time that was.‭ ‬Look,‭ ‬if I could take a pill and dunk a basketball like Jordan and earn millions I would.‭ ‬Most people would and wouldn't give a shit about the side effects or what happened down the road.‭ ‬I think if you want to take shit and put yourself at risk you should be able to.‭ ‬And if taking these things makes you more successful,‭ ‬isn't that what it is all about in this country‭?

‬Fuck,‭ ‬this is America ain't it‭? ‬Freedom means you can fuck up if you want to.‭ ‬That really should have been in the Constitution.‭

‬I need to work out.‭ ‬It's not easy to find the willpower,‭ ‬but I need to.‭ ‬I should probably do that soon.‭ ‬More on that at another time.‭

‬I always want another cup of coffee.‭ ‬I have said before but I really come as close to loving coffee as it is for a person to love a beverage.‭ ‬Coffee is a second to Diet Coke and Diet Pepsi though.‭ ‬Those are the elixir of life.‭ ‬I know I am addicted and just don't care.‭ ‬They are probably rotting me from inside but what the fuck.‭ ‬Am I right‭?

‬I got to get some fucking booze.‭ ‬I am so out of alcoholic beverages it just isn't right.‭ ‬I want some vodka.‭ ‬Maybe I will get some beers‭? ‬I will definitely pick up some Mike's hard lemonade because that stuff is just so good.‭ ‬I want to get a buzz on.‭ ‬Is that so wrong‭? ‬Everyone else in the world gets to drink and I am above‭ ‬21‭ ‬years old.‭ ‬So I want some damn alcohol.‭ ‬I am going to get some stuff and then one night drink myself into stupid oblivion.‭ ‬I do wish sometimes that alcohol held for me what it holds for others.‭ ‬Truth be told,‭ ‬alcohol has never really done it for me.‭ ‬Yeah a buzz is nice but I have never thought of it as a refuge from reality that some people do.‭ ‬Maybe I just have not drunk enough‭? ‬That is always a possibility.‭ ‬I will let you know once I get fucked up.‭ ‬Maybe my writing will get better if I get toasted‭? ‬Worked for other writers in history.‭

‬I think that might be it for now.‭ ‬Thank you for not reading.‭ ‬I wouldn't.‭ ‬Hell,‭ ‬I didn't even like writing this one.‭ ‬I don't think it clicked.‭ ‬Or maybe it did and you suck.‭ ‬And not in the good way.‭ ‬The good,‭ ‬mouth hug,‭ ‬mind the step children,‭ ‬hey what are you doing with your finger,‭ ‬wow that feels good,‭ ‬how many tongues do you have,‭ ‬oh my god here it comes,‭ ‬kind of way.‭ ‬Laterzzz...‭

Rain, Sun, Snow, Wind

Well, it's official. America is no longer the number one country in the world. We just are not good enough and we need to start realizing that. Why my sudden change of heart about America's awesomeness?

Simple. China can control the weather!

I was reading some news on the Yahoo, and then I came across this story.

Meteorologists dispatched eight planes to release rain dispersal chemicals and fired 241 rockets into incoming clouds to ensure a dry Beijing Olympics closing ceremony, state media said Monday.

Somehow, someway, when we were not looking China developed a way to rule the very forces of nature. Why are the politicians not mentioning this? This is an election year, isn't this an important topic to discuss? Are they perhaps frightened knowing the great power that the Chinese now hold?

What do you think they are going to do with their power? So far they made good weather at the Olympics; what's next? I bet they have a national picnic day and you know it will be sunny that day.

Are there any downsides to their control of weather? If they stop the rain in one place does it rain harder in another? If they call down the rain does that cause a drought somewhere else? Will they just use this power for benign purposes or is something deeper, darker afoot? Something to think about.

The Democrats are having their convention this week. This means they now have the opportunity to step up on the national stage and totally fuck up. Yeah, they are going to fight amongst themselves and backbite and act like shmucks when what they should do is pull together to take on McCain. Oh. By the way, supposedly Joe Biden is going to be Obama's running mate. I say--What?

Why, when they need to stress change and doing things in new ways do they pick a guy who's face is next to the work "insider"? They could have picked a ballsy candidate instead they go safe. I don't just mean someone of color or a female; they just went for the easy choice. I guess the bosses who control everything got a little bit nervous about Obama and are putting the person they really want in the job into the second spot. I wonder if he will end up running the show like Dick Cheney did?

Shit. I just talked about politics again didn't I? I promised myself I would stop that and start talking about fun and interesting things. I don't know what those are yet but hey I will try to find them because I just care that much.

The kiddies are starting to go back to school. When I was in school I don't remember ever going back before the end of August. Usually we went back after Labor Day. Then on the first day of school we would go out for ice cream. If I ever have kids I will do the same for them.

Shit, and now I want ice cream. But I want Chinese food more. Go figure. I haven't had Chinese for awhile because every time I have it, it makes me sick. Maybe I should try a different Chinese place? I don't know. The place I get it from has good eggrolls so I go there. I like the eggrolls. Laterzzz...
