I am more than willing to be wrong. I don’t always have to be right. I do not always know the answer. I am okay with that. I can admit it.
The thing is if I am wrong, and I am proven wrong, and it is made clear to me that I am wrong--I will change my mind! If two plus two equals five really equals four why would I continue to stick by five? Just to stick with my position? Just so I don’t have to admit I was wrong? That is foolish.
I appear to be in a rare minority that way.
When did refusing to admit you are wrong, no matter how obviously wrong you are, become acceptable? Is this something that has always been? I know I have heard the phrase “Those who don’t learn from history are doomed to repeat it” and other similar statements all my life. I always thought it was about learning from the past and doing things better. Is there a hidden meaning in there?
Maybe the real point is thinking is hard? Change is hard. Saying the same things, following the same rut, even if you don’t really believe it is a lot easier than changing your world view. The problem is if you are in a bad situation it’s easier to stay in that bad situation or ignore the situation all together than to change your mind and deal with the issues. I actually envy that in a way.
You have people who don’t even acknowledge the need to change their minds and than you have the people who know it’s all bullshit but keep on spouting the bullshit because the people they are feeding it too eat it like candy. I guess that is the way it is. The problem is when people get hurt because of the bullshit. Losing a little money isn’t getting hurt. Starving hurts.

Just wondering

Why don't cars have one seat in the front? Why do they have to have two seats? No matter how small the car is it has two seats. I say it is a waste of space. You could keep important things in that extra space. Hell you could get rid of the trunk completely.
They seem to want to come out with smaller and smaller more fuel efficient cars. They are having trouble finding space for batteries and and extra generators. I say the front passenger space would be a great place. And the extra space freed up would give the car makers some room to put in a proper back seat in case someone really needs or wants to have passengers. As it is now, lots of small cars have bench backseats or so little leg room as to be unusable anyway.
True story--one year I was going to my aunt's for holiday. I can't remember if it was Christmas or Thanksgiving. She had a Chevy Cavalier. Which being not only a small car, was a dangerous piece of shit car. So my aunt is driving and my grandmother was in the passenger seat. That means I had to wedge myself into the back. So the car being two door I squeeze into the back past the front passenger seat. Then because my relatives are normal human size there was nowhere for my legs. So I kind of half curled up on the back bench seat. I couldn't have sat up even if there was leg room anyway because God has seen fit to give me a head but the designers of the Cavalier apparently didn't think that people with heads would be sitting in the back seat of the car so they didn't add the room for one. Needless to say the ride was not one of the highlights of my life. Getting out of the car was much more fun when I had to butter my ass up to be able to get out of the back.
If they had put a proper back seat in the car and not had a front passenger seat it would have been a much better ride. Especially in a commuter car. Or an economy car. Why do you need four places to possibly sit?
Think about it. Most of the cars you see on a day to day basis rarely have more than one person in them anyway. Most cars are driven to work, parked, and then driven home. What a great way to save weight by getting rid of the damn extra seat that is never used!
Yes some people car pool. Some people take the kids to school. But lets be honest people, most of the time it is just you in your car. Making a decent car with one seat or if you want two seats put one in the back, and you can make thinner cars too. Where is it written that you have to be side by side with your passenger? That is all I am saying. Laterzzz...

Movie Idea

I want to see a movie where a mad scientist uses genetic engineering to cross a Cheetah and a Great White Shark. I think that would be cool. It would be the fastest, deadliest killing machine to walk the planet. And it can swim.
I know you are thinking to yourself, "why would anyone cross those two animals together?" That is a good point. But I have an answer to that. The reason someone would do that is that they could. We are talking about a mad scientist. He or she could be an evil mad scientist or maybe they just wanted to see if they could do it. If I was a mad scientist I know that making weird new shit would be half the fun.
I would go to scientist convention (mad or otherwise) and show off the CheetahShark® (CheetahShark® is a registered trademark of Brainsplatter, LLC. All rights reserved). I would have it under heavy sedation, of course, because if there is one thing you don't want running around is a fully conscious CheetahShark®. I think the other scientists would be astounded. They would probably also be jealous. While they were busy making things to save the world or make life easier,(again, except for the evil, mad ones), you are making things that are getting the attention. At the gala awards banquet that night, how could I not end up being recognized with the the Albert Einstein coolest scientist award? And it would be well deserved.
Back to my movie. In it there would probably be the standard group of nubile teenagers and one by one they would be dispatched by the voracious appetite of the CheetahShark®. I don't know at this time how to get a shower scene into the movie but I suppose you could have a bathing scene in a river. After all, if you have are going to have the nubile coeds, you have to have the required nude scenes. It is required after all. That is the one thing that a good horror movie needs, tasty female nudity.
I suppose that everyone in the movie doesn't have to be a coed. You would need a good scientist to oppose the bad one. We would need a Native American medicine man or an African Witch Doctor. They could be the ones talking about messing with the delicate balance of nature or some such thing. If we have some environmentalist guys it would be cool if they were dispatched in a truly great way. Not because I don't believe in taking care of the environment, I just find that most tree-huggers are just pompous fucks who usually make you want to burn down a rainforest rather than save one. Especially if you took them out in the fire.
The coolest part of the whole movie, besides the name, CheetahShark®, would be the special effects. First of all you would need a kick ass anamatronic CheetahShark®. And then you would need some computer effects. The most important thing would be that the thing doesn't look all cheesy. Cheesy effects can kill a movie. Fantastic effects can make a okay little movie into a cult classic. Effects though don't make all things better. Some times, no matter how much you polish a turd, all you end up with in the end is a turd.
Oh, forgot to mention. My movie would need a story, dialogue, and ending that is final and yet leaves open a possibility of sequels. Like maybe a nest of eggs. Hell, it worked for Jurassic Park. But boy did those sequels suck. Laterzzz.
